Robin Williams was beloved for his comedic skills and huge personality but it was his flair for the dramatic that earned him all kinds of accolades. His final role in Boulevard, in which he looks to give a raw, sensitive performance, is sure to win audiences over again. The movie, coming a year after his tragic suicide last summer, will no doubt hit his fans hard. We’d be lying if we said we watched the trailer with dry eyes.

Williams stars as Nolan Mack, a man barely living as he goes from day to day, who, in his later years, comes to terms with the secret life he has been living and decides to confront what he’s buried for so long: his repressed homosexuality.

Estranged from his wife (Kathy Baker), Mack finds a new lease on life after meeting a young hustler (Roberto Aguire), and is finally ready to deal. It’s a heart-wrenching story about being honest with one’s self.

“Nothing turned out the way I thought, I guess,” says Williams’ character. We couldn’t agree more.

Boulevard hits theatres on July 10.
