If there was ever any doubt that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s imposing physical form was simply an optical illusion, the former WWE wrestler just crushed that doubt. Crushed it.
Johnson uploaded a video to his official YouTube channel this week showing the movie star going through a typical workout in the gym. We mean typical for The Rock. We’re pretty sure that many reps would kill most of us.
The video opens with Johnson delivering his trademark quote, “Blood, sweat, and respect. The first two you give. The last one you earn.” We’ve definitely earned a newfound respect for the amount of sweat Johnson produces in one workout. Can you smell what The Rock is sweating? Probably, but the man looks good doing it.
The Under Armour spokesman and star of the upcoming remakes of Baywatch and Jumanji has been putting his muscles to good use, being named People’s Most Beautiful Person in 2016 and earning the title of highest paid actor.
Johnson often shares glimpses of his workout with fans on his social media pages, including 3 a.m. gym sessions and a no-mercy training attitude.
Yup, there’s a toilet in the squat rack. We got after it hardcore this week at my good bud @gunnarfitness’ spot in LA. Intense chest, tri’s and neck training. Gunnar keeps a toilet (non-functioning;) in the rack which a whole other level of psychological bad assery. Invaluable warm up. When training my fav body part (legs) I used to do minimal warm up and just jump into the fire. After years of football and wrestling injuries – 5 knee surgeries, 1 shredded Achilles and the most sexiest fun pain injury of all – ripping the top of my quad and adductor tendon off my pelvis – I’ve learned the best thing we can do is ALWAYS carve out the proper time to warm up those muscles, tendons & ligaments so we do what we luv… and that’s get in the game and f*ck shit up. #GetUrWarmUp #SexiestBionicMan #GrindDNA #AndDontEverSkipLegDay
