Bad news for
soccer football fans everywhere. It looks as though there will be no more bending it like Beckham in the near future. Not now that both of David Beckham‘s teenaged sons are done with the sport.
While we already knew about 16-year-old Brooklyn’s penchant for photography over kicking a ball around (the kid does have more than five million Instagram followers, so he must be on to something), we were still holding out hope for the younger Beckham to follow his father’s cleated footsteps.
Sadly, it looks as though Romeo is interested in following other passions instead, something Beckham Sr. can’t exactly fault him for. In a recent interview, pops revealed that his 13-year-old son stated he no longer wants to play soccer, and would rather focus on his fashion pursuits instead.
“Part of me was devastated, but part of me was relieved, too,” he told The Mirror. “He’s got other passions and I like that.”
Beckham, like us, is probably still holding out hope that one of his other two kids – son Cruz and daughter Harper – might take up a soccer career instead. In the meantime, it seems as though Romeo is following more in his mother’s fashionable footsteps.
That is, if his work modelling with Burberry is any indication. For a 13-year-old model, we’d say he has a pretty nifty career ahead of him indeed. Just check out this promo he released with the fashion giant a year ago.
Looks like he’s still bending it like a Beckham after all. Just in a completely different way.
