Rose Leslie and Kit Harington are expecting their first child
The Game of Thrones stars were married in 2018.

Leslie and Harington met playing on-screen couple Ygritte and Jon Snow on HBO’s monster hit Game of Thrones. Rumours of a romance began publicly floating around in 2012, but the couple didn’t confirm their status until 2016. The pair announced their engagement in 2017 and were married the following year at Wardhill Castle in Scotland where Rose grew up.When Leslie and Harington’s baby arrives, the couple will likely bring it home to their Tudor manor in East Anglia in England. “It’s incredibly old. We have a thatched roof, which currently has an enormous hornet’s nest in it,” Leslie told Make Magazine, calling it the ‘house that Jon Snow built.’ “I do love to think about the house and all the people who have lived there. Were they happy, how did they live? All the families passing under those ancient beams.”
The actor has mostly been living in London and New York since wrapping her three years on Game of Thrones, switching gears to star opposite Christine Baranski in the legal drama The Good Fight. Leslie left the series in 2019 after three seasons and has been focusing more on features, including an upcoming starring role opposite Gal Gadot in Death in the Nile, where Leslie will play a French maid and use her accent she picked up while spending three years of her childhood in France.Speaking to the magazine, Leslie said that she feels most at peace in rural settings similar to the area in Aberdeen, Scotland where she was born and lived until she was 10. “What a glorious thing to be able to run to the countryside and recoup,” said Leslie. “It’s a great privilege to be surrounded by greenery, birdsong and hedgerows, and our delightful neighbours. It’s so peaceful.”Leslie and Harington’s rural home also provides some much-needed privacy for the high-profile couple. Harington especially has been dogged by the tabloids after becoming an international star thanks to his ten years spent playing Jon Snow on Game of Thrones. Following the end of GoT in 2019, Harington checked into the wellness retreat Privé-Swiss in Connecticut where he was treated for stress and negative emotions in the form of “psychological coaching, practicing mindful meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy.” Rumours of Harington’s stay at the center were first reported by Page Six and the actor’s rep later confirmed the news in a statement.Leslie and Harington’s baby is the latest little bundle of joy to join the extended GoT family. Earlier this year, Sophie Turner, who played Harington’s half-sister/cousin Sansa Stark, welcomed a daughter named Willa with husband Joe Jonas.
Actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who played The Mountain, also welcomed a son this week with wife Kelsey Henson.
