After 12 seasons, there is no denying that RuPaul’s Drag Race has reached ‘icon’ status. Chock full of celebrity appearances, incredible queens, unforgettable clapbacks, and a lot of glitz, glam, and expertly delivered sass, the series has earned a devoted following over the years. And, it would seem, the (drag) race is far from over. RuPaul’s Drag Race is officially strapping on some sky-high heels and strutting down the Las Vegas strip for new docu-series, RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue. The show will feature six fan-favourite Queens from the show, including season 11 winner, Yvie Oddly, Vanessa "Vanjie" Mateo, Asia O'Hara, Derrick Barry, Kameron Michaels, and Naomi Smalls as they launch the RuPaul's Drag Race Live! residency, which hit the stage back in January. Viva YAS Vegas, indeed.Surely, this comes as great news for fans whose plans to experience the show live in Vegas were thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, a docu-series brings the show to us, providing a backstage look at the personal and professional lives of our favourite Drag Race stars from the comfort of our living rooms.[video_embed id='1952603']RELATED: Shangela, Bob The Drag Queen and Eureka tells us about their HBO show 'We're Here'[/video_embed]Teasing the upcoming series, VH1 promised it will “give fans a deeper look into the lives of their favourite queens as they showcase the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent it takes to pull off groundbreaking performances in front of a live audience.” “Can these six legendary queens slay the strip?” asks the trailer, and the slay-potential is off the charts, if you ask us (and fans on Twitter seem to agree). The series arrives at a perfect time, as RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 5 will come to an epic end this Friday night (9:30et on Crave). Don’t worry though, in the meantime, we still have Canada's Drag Race airing all summer long (Thursdays @ 9et on Crave). You know what they say — the show must go on.RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue will consist of six episodes, and premieres on Friday, August 21st at 8PM on VH1.
