Music fans, it has actually happened. After 13 years of audience heckling and being nagged with “are you related?” jokes, folk rocker Ryan Adams finally gave in and covered a Bryan Adams song.

Three decades ago at a Ryan Adams concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Tennessee, Adams famously threw a heckling fan out of the show for loudly requesting the singer-writer to play Canadian rocker Bryan Adams’ best known hit, “Summer of ’69” (you know, cuz Ryan Adams sounds like Bryan Adams and it’s funny to confuse the two.)

Earlier this week, Ryan Adams returned to the scene of the crime and treated the Ryman Auditorium crowd to an unexpected performance of the infamously requested Bryan Adams song.

Of course, being Ryan Adams, the cover was incredible and very much his own version.

Listen to Ryan Adams playing “Summer of ’69” below, and try not to love it. It’s impossible.

Side note: Did you know that Ryan Adams and Bryan Adams actually share the same birthday? Nov. 5. Seriously, what are the odds?
