Can Gosling please host Saturday Night Live every year?

It was the first time Ryan Gosling graced SNL with his presence and like the pro that he is, he didn’t disappoint — even though some may have had doubts. Was he going to be all awkward during his monologue and ensuing skits? Or would he prove he’s an actor with a vast repertoire that could kick sketch comedy’s ass all while being really, really ridiculously good-looking? Yes — and YES!

Gosling came ready to play and was committed to it all (he even got Mike Myers to lend a Canadian hand at the beginning). But what he might not have factored in was SNL‘s hilarious cast — because they were almost too much for him. Goz simply couldn’t hold it together and laughed — or tried to stifle his laughter — in just about every skit he was in. But that’s OK because the best hosts are always the ones who are having the most fun.

NBC NBC

In more serious, but equally sweet and adorable news, Ryan has an interview with Hello! in which he gushes about his girlfriend (and Esmeralda’s baby mama):

“I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,” he told the magazine, adding that the only quality he looks for in a woman is “that she’s Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”

Drake remixed “Hotline Bling” to promote his flagship OVO store in L.A.

You know when that hotline bling, Drake can only mean one thing… well, actually it’s two things. The rapper is also a fashion designer and he made a sexy, bluesy remix of his hit song to promote the opening of his OVO flagship store in Los Angeles.

Featuring Drake with his arms around a lucky gal while leaning on a Ferrari like it’s a Civic, the two gaze at the camera before driving through the Hollywood hills and along the coast. It’s filmed in a very cool, old school-like way, and the chill California vibe is basically what sells it. We’re in.

Bieber posted another throwback pic of Selena, what does it mean?

In the second time in five days, Justin Bieber posted a throwback pic of Selena Gomez on his Instagram. The first one:

Just a throwback calm down

And the second, on Saturday:

Crazy throwback

But if it’s his passive-aggressive way of telling Selena he’s interested in rekindling things, he may be too late. Gomez seems to have moved on from Biebs — or at least for one night: with Niall Horan from One Direction.

The setting: Jenna Dewan-Tatum‘s birthday party. The scene: Selena and Niall “dancing close together” and “all over each other.”

What’s a girl to do? Niall is now on a hiatus, so he’s got lots of free time on his hands. Selena, on the other hand, is busy promoting her latest album — as is Justin. Maybe she isn’t ready for anything serious and just wants to have a little fun. And who can blame her?

Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at the NASCAR Awards

It was the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Banquet on Friday night in Las Vegas and it was going to be the final stop for retiring racer Jeff Gordon. So who better and bigger to introduce Gordon than Tom Cruise?

During the two-minute intro, Cruise praised Gordon’s efforts both on and off the track and Jeff was emotional, crying as Tom wrapped up, citing NASCAR CEO Brian France’s one-word description of Gordon. “Transcendence: A few reach it – he did,” Cruise said. “And although many of us want to say, ‘We’ll miss you,’ what we really mean is: ‘We thank you.'” The two men hugged before Gordon gave his own speech, saying, “It’s been absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t have ever imagined how my life would turn out. Now here I am, 25 years later, stepping away from one of the most prestigious series in all of motorsports and a fulfilling career that can only truly be described as remarkable.” You’ll be missed, Jeff!

Inmates hit on Thor in prison, because who wouldn’t?

Chris Hemsworth was in prison… for research, people, for research. He recounted what went down on The Graham Norton Show, as Norton, Ron Howard, Lily Tomlin and Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges listened raptly. Turns out, inmates love Thor (starts at the 2:35 mark).

Uh, we totally get it.
