Samuel L. Jackson has never held back on screen, reserving him a spot as one of the greatest actors of our generation. The 70-year-old entertainer is one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood, appearing in an average of five films per year, with 2019 including leading roles in some of the year’s biggest titles (Captain Marvel, Shaft, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Glass and more). Jackson also doesn’t hold back in his personal life, with the Pulp Fiction star using his Twitter account to engage and actively fight against the hate-filled and dangerous laws and moves being made by President Trump. And no one does angry like Sam Jackson.

In a new interview with Esquire, Jackson talks about his fears with the Trump presidency and why he doesn’t care if his political views alienate members of his fan base. “This motherf–ker is like ruining the planet and all kinds of other crazy s–t,” says Jackson. “And the people think that’s OK. It’s not f–king OK. And if you’re not saying anything, then you’re complicit.”

The bad mutha has long been one of the most outspoken opponents of Trump in Hollywood, with Jackson speaking out against the President since the beginning of Trump’s time in office, back when many celebs were still unsure as to whether to risk losing fans over politics. Jackson shared his take on losing ticket sales with Esquire, saying “I know how many motherf–kers hate me. ‘I’m never going to see a Sam Jackson movie again.’ F–k I care? If you never went to another movie I did in my life, I’m not going to lose any money. I already cashed that check. F–k you. Burn up my videotapes. I don’t give a f–k.”

The man is a poet. We love it.

As for critics who believe that Jackson and other celebrities should ‘stick to acting’ and keep their political views private, well, you can pretty much guess his response.

“No, motherf–ker. I’m a human being that feels a certain way. And some of this s–t does affect me, because if we don’t have health care … and my relatives get sick, they’re going to call my rich a–,” says Jackson. “I want them to have health care. I want them to be able to take care of themselves. This is how I feel. And I count to 100 some days before I hit ‘send,’ because I know how that s–t is.”

If only the President of the United States could exhibit the same restraint when tweeting.

Even with his packed acting schedule, Jackson regularly finds time to work with several charities and remain politically active. In 2018, he frequently used his platform to help the Democratic party take back the house.
