We’ve all been known to fangirl once in awhile but it's always refreshing to see celebs get just as starstruck and dorky as the rest of us. And when it comes to celebs losing it over other celebs, Sarah Paulson is our girl. She may have a giant fanbase of her own, but she's also the head of the Official Cher Fanclub, which means she nearly died with happiness when she came in direct contact with the singer at this year's Met Gala. That explains why girl could hardly contain her excitement when she dropped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (weeknights on CTV2 at 11:35 p.m. ET) last night for a visit—and let’s be honest, we couldn’t exactly blame her. Cher, who provided the secret musical entertainment at this year’s ball (fitting, considering the theme was "Camp"), gave a characteristically riveting performance, and Sarah couldn’t help but get right into the groove. How could she not when her idol was doing a flawless performance of "Turn Back Time" mere FEET  away from her?Sarah's enthusiasm didn’t go unnoticed, and Cher approached her and took her hand for a brief moment. As Sarah explained, "It was bananas… she sees me, walks right to me, and grabs my hand… I mean like, it was personal… because we’re friends, you guys."
And if that sounds like an exaggeration, Winnie Harlow Insta-storied the whole exchange for posterity. So, maybe they’re not exactly swapping late-night texts, but the moment was surely emotional for Sarah, especially considering the very first concert she ever attended was, you guessed it, a Cher concert.Of course this is but the latest in a growing list of adorable encounters Sarah's had with incredible female musicians. Who could forget the "super-chill obsession" she formed when co-starring with Rihanna in Ocean’s 8, with whom she’s "pretty sure" she’s now friends? Or the time she asked to touch Adele’s voicebox? (Because, duh, it’s where the magic happens). Not forgetting, of course, the time she was photographed mouth literally agape while spotting Madonna at last year’s Met Gala red carpet. So it’s safe to say Sarah Paulson harbours a soft spot (read: deep obsession) for iconic female performers. And though we might expect celebs to better suppress their inner fans, we absolutely adore her wearing her (very sweet, and very dorky) heart on her sleeve.
