It's a big day for the ladies and Canadians. America Ferrera and Danai Gurira got up early (L.A. time) to announce the nominees for the 2020 Screen Actor's Guild Awards and give some much needed recognition to the little Canadian comedy that could and the stellar women we've been fawning over all year.Scarlett Johansson received her first two SAG Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Jojo Rabbit and Outstanding Lead Actress in Marriage Story. ScarJo was nominated for a Golden Globe earlier this week for her role in the latter and her co-stars also got some love from the SAG with Laura Dern and Adam Driver both getting noms of their own.Other film casts to get a lot of love were the ladies of Bombshell (Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie and Charlize Theron all received individual nominations in addition to a full cast nom), Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (haaay, Leo and Brad) and The Irishman. Jennifer Lopez also received another nod for her supporting role in Hustlers and Joaquin Phoenix is in the running for Lead Actor for his Joker performance. In TV nominations, The Morning Show, The Kominsky Method and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel dominated while the brilliance of Bill Hader (Barry), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and Christina Applegate (Dead to Me) were not overlooked. Schitt's Creek also pulled it's first two SAG noms ever—one for the effervescent Catherine O'Hara and another for the cast as an ensemble. Jharrel Jerome (When The See Us) and Lupita Nyong'o (Us) got their due as well as the casts of Game of Thrones (of which only Kit Harington was recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press) and Big Little Lies (which only garnered a GG nom for supporting actress Meryl Streep). Robert De Niro still wasn't recognized with a nod for his role in The Irishman, but he will nevertheless be receiving the Life Achievement Award presented to him on the night by Leonardo DiCaprio.See the full list of nominees below and catch the 26th Annual SAG Awards live on January 19, 2020.
