It’s funny… 3D printers have been used for quite a few medical advancements recently. But one use that’s just begging for us to stand fully erect and pay attention is the idea that it may now be possible to print out the perfect penis size.
That’s right, the days of penis envy could be a thing of the past now that scientists have latched on to some new findings. And the results should actually be pretty comforting to men.
In a joint study from UCLA and the University of New Mexico, researchers used 3D penises to help women pick their ideal size. And not just their ideal size for any old situation; the study was broken up into uses, such as the ideal size for a one-night stand or a long-term, committed relationship.
Talk about medical foreplay.
In order to perform the study, sexual psychophysiologist Dr. Nicole Prause and a team presented 75 women with 33 3D printed, blue penises — blue in order to minimize racial skin-colour cues. The women were then asked to pick their ideal size for both a one-night stand and for a long-term relationship.
Turns out, women want a penis that’s really only slightly above average, and are looking for something slightly larger when it comes to a random hookup. The study also indicates that women were especially great at recalling the circumference size of their choices after the fact, meaning that girth may count more than length after all.
So what is the ideal size, according to these women? In a relationship, they were looking for an average length of 6.3 inches and a circumference of 4.8 inches. And for a one night stand with a “kind, intelligent, funny” guy with “a great job?” That’s when the expectations grow to 6.4 inches and a circumference of 5 inches.
To us, that all sounds fine and dandy. But when it comes to a choice between a ‘perfect’ blue phallic toy and the real thing that’s attached to someone who knows how to use it… well let’s just say we know what we’re picking every single time.
