It turns out that our beloved Seinfeld characters aren’t the hilariously apathetic, narcissistic, oddballs that we’ve come to adore over the past quarter century. They’re actually big softies with even bigger hearts.
Earlier this month, several cast members from the iconic sitcom took the time to film in-character birthday wishes for a 66-year-old super-fan named Jim Calder who was living with terminal lung cancer.
Jim’s son James reached out to the Seinfeld cast members through social media to see if they would mind taping special in-character messages for his dying father on his last birthday. And several obliged.

Even Elaine herself, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, took the time to send Jim this extra-special message:
James says he also received several other videos and emails from additional cast members such as Kramer (Michael Richards) and Jerry Stiller (Frank Costanza) who requested to have their messages remain private.
Sadly Jim passed away three days before his birthday, but James showed him all of the messages in his final hours. He said his father “was shocked and mystified” about how they were able to reach the Seinfeld cast members. “He really felt the love and support.”
