#Cancerslayer, for real
Shannen Doherty kicked off the weekend with wonderful news. Nearly two months after revealing that she was battling breast cancer, the actress got the news every patient wants to hear: she’s in remission. And since Doherty’s shared so much of her experience — from the good to the bad — with her fans and the public, it was only fitting that she took to Instagram to post about her future, and what lies ahead.
Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment. What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react. Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting. As every single one of my fellow cancer family knows, the next five years is crucial. Reoccurrences happen all the time. Many of you have shared that very story with me. So with a heart that is certainly lighter, I wait. In the meantime, decisions. Reconstruction which is several surgeries. Decision on taking a pill for the next five years that comes with its own set of problems and side effects. I am blessed, I know that. But for now…. remission. I’m going to just breathe. #cancerslayer
“Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment. What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react,” she captioned the photo of herself sitting on the ground, face buried in her arm, and feeling what we can only assume is overwhelmed.
Shannen’s realistic, though, and acknowledges that anything can happen and it’s still a waiting game. She still has several reconstructive surgeries to undergo, and will begin taking medication that “comes with its own set of problems and side effects.” But she’ll take it, knowing that for right now, while still fighting, she can breathe a little easier.
Billy Ray Cyrus is changing his name
He first caught our attention with his infectious classic, “Achy Breaky Heart,” and since then, Billy Ray Cyrus has always been known to us as Billy Ray. Well, after all these years, the singer and Hannah Montana alum is changing his name — but not to what we all assumed it would be.
Billy Ray will no longer be Billy Ray Cyrus. Instead, he’ll be known as Cyrus.
Just … Cyrus.
“After August 25th, I will be the artist formerly known as Billy Ray. I’m just going by my last name Cyrus,” he told Rolling Stone, further explaining, “I always went by Cyrus, and I begged Mercury Records to call me Cyrus in the beginning because that’s what I was comfortable with. I’m going to the hospital where I was born in Bellefonte, Kentucky, and legally changing my name.”
So for now, we can keep calling him Billy Ray but by the end of summer, he will be a one-name wonder, like Madonna and Cher and Beyoncé. Seems kind of fitting.
Blake Lively just proved Ryan Reynolds isn’t the only joker in their family
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are basically the perfect couple. They are successful at their craft, look the way they look, have two wonderful daughters and are deeply in love. What’s more adorable (or annoying, if you don’t love perfection punching you in the face) is that they’re both freakin’ hilarious.
Sure, Reynolds may be the consummate funny guy but Lively’s no slouch in the comedic department. After last week’s TIME 100 Gala — at which Ryan was recognized as one of the world’s most influential people — Blake poked fun at her husband in the best possible way.
Aaaaaaaw, snap, that’s quite the burn, Ryan. Even he’d have to agree.
You just know Reynolds has already come up with a way to troll her back, and now he’s just lying in wait. But he’s clearly met his match, in every way. Hmm, maybe Chrissy Teigen — perhaps the only star who can truly give Ryan a run for his savvy social media money — can give Blake some tips.
Harry Styles announces he’s going on tour
One Direction fans, you may still be devastated about the boys taking time away from each other to do their own thing, but this should be a small comfort. Harry Styles, the latest to try his hand at a solo career, just revealed that he’s hitting the road — with an ambitious world tour.
Styles’ self-titled debut album is set for a May 12 release, giving him four months to get his songs out there before he kicks off the three-month tour in San Francisco on Sept. 19. He’ll tackle the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as his lone Canadian date on Oct. 4 in Toronto.
See you soon, indeed.
Looks like Kylie Jenner has a new boyfriend
Sorry, Tyga, but you’ve been replaced. There have already been dating rumours surrounding Kylie and rapper Travis Scott, but over the weekend, the two looked way too close to be categorized as “just friends.”
In a Snapchat photo shared on Twitter, Kylie and Travis were spotted in Boston, walking with their arms around each other. Scott was headlining a show at Bentley University and Jenner was there to support him.

This comes after the two were spotted holding hands at Coachella a few weeks back, and sitting courtside for an NBA playoff game in Houston just last week.
Us Weekly previously reported that Kylie and Tyga haven’t officially called it quits, with one source telling the mag that they’re “just not spending as much time together.” Um, based on the pics of Kylie and Travis, we think it’s safe to say they’re done. Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans, meet the newest guest star.
