While you were sleeping, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello dropped their new collab “Señorita,” along with a music video where Cabello plays a waitress in a diner, Mendes is one of her patrons and let’s just say things between them could not be any hotter. Um, can someone turn the AC on?

Their characters share seductive glances, sultry dances and a sexy ride on his motorcycle before heading to a hotel for what all signs point to is a passionate night together. But it’s not exactly happily ever for the sweaty couple who eventually go their separate ways. “I love it when you call me señorita / I wish I could pretend I didn’t need ya,” Cabello and Mendes sing in the chorus of the sizzling summer slow-ish jam. Give props to the singers and real-life pals of doing a very convincing job because fans might feel like they’re intruding on something real and intimate given Shawn and Camila’s dedication to the storyline.

The two teamed up once before for 2015’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (when she was still a member of Fifth Harmony), and while that was a solid tune it was nothing like “Señorita,” which features the PG-13 lyrics, “You say that we’re just friends, but friends don’t know the way you taste.” It’s easy to see why fans are worked up over the release. Shawn and Camila also did a live chat leading up to the video’s release and revealed that not only did they work on their secret collab for the past nine months but they were both super-nervous about filming the sultry the video, which meant that Cabello”had to drink a lot of wine” and found some liquid courage.

Mendes kept things a little more professional, describing Cabello as “the most creative most fun most empathetic person I know,” adding, “Working with her is a dream!”

ICYMI, Mendes is currently in the middle of his North American summer tour, tearing the roof off with his current hit, “If I Can’t Have You,” which also had a pretty great music video featuring a more grown-up Mendes and a Toronto shout-out.

Since dropping her own eponymous album last year, Cabello has worked on a number of songs with other artists including Cardi B (“South of the Border”), Mark Ronson (“Find U Again”) and she’s featured on a track from Ed Sheeran’s upcoming album.
