A quick recap: Mendes is currently dating and publicly kissing Camila Cabello, who opened for Swift on her last tour. Mayer briefly dated Swift back around 2009 after the pair recorded a song together. The relationship did not end well, with Swift penning several songs about the breakup including the infamous Dear John, where she bitingly sings about being taken advantage of by a selfish, game-playing, older lover. Ouch. The conversation on Current Mood didn't stay on Taylor though, and got more exciting when Cabello herself crashed the chat, saying hello in the comments and writing cute messages like, “THAT’S MY BOYFRIEND, I LOVE HIM!” until the duo noticed. She was quickly added to the live stream, joking around with Mendes, who told her she looked pretty and asked what she was doing. “I’m filming a video,” she explained, going on to say it was for her upcoming single, Living Proof. After a quick Q&A with Mayer and some flirting between the couple, Cabello cheerfully signed off.In the same week he releases a collab with Taylor, Shawn jumps on Instagram with John Mayer & talks about the song while failing to mention Taylor or the current situation. She’s done so much for him over the years & hasn’t spoken in support of her once. He has cancelled himself pic.twitter.com/n4GPsLRLM3

While the affectionate Shawmila pop-ip was cute, it didn’t distract Swift fans from the Lover diss, and they were quick to jump on both Mayer and Mendes. Not only were fans upset that Mayer teased Swift, they were disappointed that Mendes went on the show and sat back as Mayer went on about the lyrics and didn't respond to a flurry of questions about whether or not both men support Taylor's current crusade with her back catalogue rights.Neither Taylor nor Shawn and John have commented on the online reaction to Current Mood.[video_embed id='1830559']RELATED: Taylor Swift strikes back at her former record label[/video_embed]Current MoodWith Special Guest @ShawnMendesSunday Night 7pm west/10pm eastInstagram Live @ https://t.co/BxBhARtBCm pic.twitter.com/vhVPWbOiFq
