It’s been 11 amazing seasons for Criminal Minds, but Shemar Moore has called it quits. After one too many close calls, Derek Morgan chose to leave the BAU to focus on his wife and family on Wednesday night, giving us the last of the popular agent. Not to mention the eye candy.

This was Moore’s choice and we completely understand that after 11 years he might want to try new things. But that doesn’t mean we have to like it. Yeah, yeah, Criminal Minds is an ensemble but it’s almost impossible to imagine the team without him and his stubbornness. And we can’t even imagine what his baby girl Penelope (Kirsten Vangsness) is feeling right now.

Moore posted a farewell video, saying, “To my homies, to my fans, to my baby girls: Cry if you have to, scream and yell if you have to, smile, smile, laugh, celebrate. This is not goodbye; this is goodbye to this part of a dream, this chapter. I’m not going anywhere. You guys haven’t gone anywhere. Without you, my dream is not possible. I can dream all day everyday, but I can’t make it work unless you support me, unless you root for me, unless you watch me and you believe in me.”

He continued, “With whatever success I may have, it means nothing unless I inspire others. So whoever you are, I’m just like you.” He also added, about his time on the show, “I’ve had a ball. So this party might be ending with me in it, but I promise you, I’ma throw another party and invite all of you.”

Shemar’s co-stars Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler and Vangsness paid tribute to their pal in an emotional goodbye video. Just make sure you’ve got some handy tissues while you watch.

Yes, it’s sad but Criminal will live on — as will Derek. The show didn’t kill him off and like we’ve seen in the past with former star Paget Brewster and her beloved character, Emily Prentiss, all we can hope is to see Derek and more of his abs again. Which he is totally on-board with.

“I went back for two episodes [on The Young and the Restless during Criminal Minds] and I would have done it for free — and the same goes with Criminal Minds,” Moore told The Hollywood Reporter. “If they’ll let me come in and play for a while, yes. I’d love to come back.”

And, hey, if Grey’s Anatomy can do OK without Derek Shepherd, we have to believe that Criminal Minds will be just fine without Derek Morgan. Right?
