We can all agree that there’s no shortage of photos when it comes to documenting a wedding. It seems that no matter where you look, there’s always a flurry of flashes and a sea of smartphones around. This, however, could become especially annoying for the one person who’s specifically hired to take photos of the special day.

That’s right, the wedding photographer.

One wedding photographer took to Facebook to speak out against one guest who ruined a special moment for the bride. The guest unknowingly inserted their smartphone into the photographer’s frame when the father of the bride started to walk his daughter down the aisle — making the photographer miss the shot.

“Not only did you ruin my shot, but you took this moment away from the groom, father of the bride, and the bride,” the photographer writes on Facebook. “Are you going to print it out? Save it? Look at it everyday? No. You’re not.”

The furious photographer urges wedding goers to turn off their phones and instead be present to enjoy the moment — a sentiment that divided many who commented on the letter.

Some were quick to dismiss her plea, calling her out for shaming the guest for trying to capture a photo of her loved one’s big moment. Others sided fervidly with the photographer, making the point that it can’t be enjoyable for the bride to step into an aisle with a sea of phones pointed at her face.

Despite the divide between arguments on each side, everyone should be able to agree that there are subtle and polite ways to snap a pic of your friend coming down the aisle without interrupting the proceedings.
