These days, meeting someone new can be a tall order.
Online dating websites or apps like Tinder definitely aren’t for everyone, and some people just feel uncomfortable about the whole bar pickup scene. That’s why one man in London, Ont. has come up with a rather unique approach to finding new love.
Peter Gould, 47, has posted a large sign on his front yard that reads “My girlfriend left, I don’t like bars/dating sites, new g-friend needed.” His email and phone number are also included, but there is only one caveat: interested parties must be between the ages of 35 and 47.
“[I’m looking for someone] who enjoys having a beer and we get along and talk about our day,” he said.
In fairness, the idea to put up the sign in the first place started with a dare from his friends. But he’s serious about finding a date, and if you’re interested, here’s what we know about Gould so far:
- He’s a big Toronto Maple Leafs fan
- Self described “blue-collar guy”
- He’s employed
- Owns a house, car and motorcycle
He even admits, at times, that he can be romantic.
“I had cooked a nice dinner and put little tea light candles all the way through the house to a path of roses and wine,” he said, describing something he had done in a previous relationship.
