By now, you probably know how important it is to practice self-care every so often, whether that’s in the form of a long bath, a yoga class or a quick visit to the spa. But one Instagram user, @asmr.soapqueen, has found a way to help people relax that’s a little… unconventional.

The account has wracked up over 100,000 followers just by posting videos of soap being destroyed. And they’re surprisingly soothing. Correction, they’re insanely soothing.

See what I mean? It feels as if the knife in the video is scraping away any stress along with the soap.

Odds are, you’ve already stumbled upon some of the other weird yet soothing ASMR videos on the internet involving slime or bath bombs or a person just whispering away into a mic. And watching soap getting sliced up is another perfect example of how the human body can relax just by observing sounds, movement and colours.

Take the videos below, for instance. Pay attention to the slow movement from the soap as each slice falls down and the rhythmic thumping of the knife.

Heavenly, aren’t they?

Or, watch as a vegetable peeler scrapes away thin peels of soap over and over again.

You can also enjoy soap peels getting crushed up with a mortar and pestle.

People sure do get creative when it comes to finding new ways to relax.
