Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau hasn’t always been on the lips of everyone in Canada. But with heightened exposure (she is the prime minister’s wife), comes a lot of photo opportunities and public appearances. So, yeah, she’s about to be very present, not unlike Michelle Obama or Kate Middleton. And for those moments, she’ll want to look at her absolute best.

One woman who knows this quite well is  Ben Mulroney‘s wife Jessica, who is good friends with Sophie. Together, they assembled the look Sophie wore to Justin Trudeau‘s swearing in ceremony, according to CTV’s eTalk. And people took notice.

Jessica works on marketing, branding and social media for Kleinfeld at Hudson’s Bay. So, she knows a thing or two about clothes. Even Gregoire-Trudeau used to be a personal shopper at Holt Renfrew. So, this look was destined to be a masterpiece.

Mulroney elected to dress the first lady of Canada in a white Sentaler coat over top of a colour-blocked dress from Erdem’s pre-fall 2015 collection. The only accessory? A red poppy, for Remembrance Day.
