Craft expert Denise Wild shares some spooky craft ideas the whole family can get in on just in time for Halloween.

Electric Eyeball Juice

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Ginger beer
  • Lemonade
  • Purple grapes
  • Lychees

WHAT YOU DO:

  1. Mix half a cup of ginger beer with one cup of lemonade.
  2. Stuff purple grapes into lychees to make the eyes.

Edible Brains

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Puffed rice squares
  • Marshmallows
  • Red food colouring
  • Red decorator’s icing
  • White glitter

WHAT YOU DO:

  1. Make puffed rice squares following the directions on the cereal box. For extra ooey-gooey brains, double the marshmallows.
  2. While still warm, shape the puffed rice recipe into a rounded brain.
  3. Paint red food colouring on top of the brain, and use red decorator’s icing and white glitter decorator’s icing to draw the vein lines.

Monster Cookie Pops

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Cookies
  • Icing
  • Edible eyes
  • Candy
  • Popsicle stick

WHAT YOU DO:

  1. Decorate cookies with icing, edible eyes, and candies, then attach a popsicle stick to the back of the cookie using icing.

Mummy Bowl

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • A bowl
  • Crafter’s spray glue
  • Gauze
  • Adhesive craft paper or glue
  • Googlie eyes
  • Foam shapes

WHAT YOU YOU:

  1. Cover a bowl with crafter’s spray glue, then wrap gauze around the bowl multiple times. Use adhesive craft paper or glue on googlie eyes and foam shapes to create a face.
