The world was recently re-infected with Star Wars Fever when the new saga instalment, The Force Awakens, came out. Now, it’s about to get a new epicentre.
Disney has teamed up with Lucasfilm to design two new, 14-acre Star Wars theme parks to be built at Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida.
The news has us like:
And we are most definitely going there. The only question that remains is whether we check our Darth Vader helmet or just carry it on. We’ll just carry on…
The announcement came as part of Disney’s 60th anniversary party plans, delivered by none other than Han Solo himself.
Jedi, Stormtroopers and even Sith are welcome, as long as you’re taller than Yoda. Put the kids aboard the Millenium Falcon for an afternoon blast across the universe while you grab a cold one at the Chalmun’s Cantina in Pirate City.
The parks promise to recreate your childhood memories in sculpted 3D, adding lots for the new star wars fans as well. Even though this will certainly mean bigger lines at Walt’s World, there will be tons of interactive features to keep you and the kids from turning to the Dark-side. With photo ops around every corner, a build your own droid workshop and The Darth Maul to shop until you drop, no one is going to be bored on this trip.
