Divorce generally isn’t something that should be celebrated, but with some relationships, it’s the obvious, right choice. But it’s how two people handle themselves during and after a split that really matters, especially if there are children involved. There are some celebrities (we’re looking at you, Kelsey and Camille, Kim and Kris and the pair formerly known as TomKat) who give divorce an even worse rep, while there are others (like J.Lo and Marc, Bruce and Demi and Gwyneth and Chris) who do their best to work with what they’ve got.

Then there’s Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli who are redefining ‘amicable’ in the very best way.

Jennie and Peter, who were married for 11 years before finalizing their divorce in 2013, went on a family vacation with their two daughters, Lola, 14, and Fiona, 10 (their eldest, Luca, is away at college). But it wasn’t about rekindling their relationship. On the contrary, the two went on vacation with their children … and their respective partners.

According to People magazine, Jennie and husband Dave Abrams, Peter and girlfriend Lily Anne Harrison, and Lola and Fiona were at Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico, having a grand old time.

“The group seemed happy, like a modern family,” an onlooker told People. “The adults would look to each other to provide cover for one another when the kids were plunging into the pool and gleefully splashing them. There was a lot of laughter and they seem to be having a ton of fun.”

The source added, “As a whole, the group was very playful, and especially seemed to have fun playing on the beach, kicking around a ball, playing music and just all around entertaining one another.”

Some exes aren’t even Facebook friends, much less this. But it’s kind of great, isn’t it? If only all exes could be like this — not just for the well-being of the kids but also for their own sanity.
