Wayne’s World? Pfft. This is Stephen Colbert‘s world and we’re just living in it. The former Comedy Central god is in between gigs so before he takes on Late Show duties, he figured he would keep his hosting muscles warm by guest-hosting a public-access show you’ve never heard of.

And this wasn’t just a little skit. Colbert went full Colbert and hosted all 40-plus minutes of the show in which he drank wine and painted his nails with the show’s usual hosts, took on Monroe’s news headlines Colbert Report-style, read about a town Yelp war (and gave us two spit takes in the process), and interviewed a rapper, “a local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music: Marshall Mathers.”

Despite his lack of Michigan music knowledge, Eminem is game, fancies himself somewhere between “sing-songy” Bones Thugs-n-Harmony and “street” Will Smith, and is in the middle of political and good, old-fashioned booty rhymes. “Right in the middle of the booty” are the only words you need to hear today.

Actually, no, scratch that. All 41:25 is worth of your time, but if you want to tune in to only Eminem on Only in Monroe, go to the 22 minute mark. Colbert’s Late Show doesn’t premiere until September 8 so until then, we have this to tide you over — and, we promise, you won’t be sorry. Except you will be — for missing the first 22 minutes. But after watching Eminem and Stephen’s exchange, you’ll just start the video from the beginning like we did.
