Ever been on a subway or train, willing time to go a little faster so you could just get to your destination already? Because if you don’t have a good book and you’ve got no cell service, it can get a little boring. Not in Spain, though. If you’re on a train in Madrid, well, let’s just say their travel standards are a lot more upbeat. OK, maybe not on all trains, but this one particular journey may have been the most fun ride ever.
It began as a car full of strangers, but all it took was a man playing Carlos Vives and Shakira‘s “La Bicicleta” for it to become an episode of Glee (minus the slushy-throwing and inappropriate banter).
When the man started singing along to the hit track (with his handy microphone, of course), a group of girls joined him. That’s when the dancing began. Their fellow passengers didn’t look annoyed; if anything, they looked to be having a good time. Such a good time, in fact, that as the song went on, it was like they couldn’t help themselves as many of them got to their feet, dancing and singing too.
Shakira saw it on Facebook and loved it, adding, “moments like this makes the music makes sense!” The video, which has nearly five million views, proves that sometimes what we really want is to laugh and have a good time, no matter where we are. And if there’s some singing and dancing, that’s cool too.
