In what guest panelist Will Arnett deemed to be one of the “weirdest things” he’s ever seen, an Astronaut, T-Rex, Rhino and a Night Angel took to The Masked Singer (Wednesday, 8pE, CTV) stage to perform Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud.” It was the final group performance before the Super Nine finalists were revealed, and either the clues are finally starting to come together or the panelists have been using their Google fingers because three of the five personalities actually guessed what the internet has known for weeks: the identity of the fallen T-Rex.

Will Arnett lightens the mood

The Masked Singer was filmed in full before most of Hollywood basically shut down (can’t you tell by the same rotating outfits the panelists wear?), which makes it a great escape for anyone who just doesn’t want to think about the current state of the world for an hour. Especially when someone like Arnett joins the crew to lend his own brand of humour. Sure, his appearance was a total Lego Masters plug (the contestants even sent Lego clues up to the panelists much to Nicole Scherzinger’s dismay—did you see her Lego figurine?!), but he also proved why he’s such a good host. He was quick on his feet, he read the crowd and got in on the Ken Jeong jokes, and his ad-libbing during a cut scene right before the T-Rex’s identity was revealed was so great that the editors left it in for the actual show. If you’re a fan of TV, how could ask for anything more? His guesses weren’t too bad either. He put the panelists onto the idea that Night Angel could actually be Janet Jackson (although he did also guess she could be Mayim Bialik before quickly retracting that guess and blaming it on sitting next to Ken), and he figured Astronaut might be former NSYNC member JC Chasez… mind you he totally butchered the guy’s last name, which Robin Thicke was absolutely there for.[video_embed id='1597056']RELATED: Will Arnett says he'd be a much better astronaut than Elizabeth Banks and James Corden[/video_embed]Now if only all the fans could get behind the weird Ken-Nick Cannon relationship that’s been brewing this season. After all the other panelists received Lego clues from the performers and Ken was left in the dust again, Nick sent a Lego tableau up to the panelist, and the pair joked about Nick being his father. Again. Many people probably wished it was the first time they’d heard that one.

T-Rex goes extinct

With Bear (aka Sarah Palin) and Swan (aka Bella Thorne) gone, the remaining Group C contestants were under close scrutiny for their voices and performances. If you weren’t sure that Night Angel and Rhino were bringing it before, Wednesday night solidified their strong voices. Same goes with Astronaut, about whom fans are still conflicted as to whether he’s a pro singer or not. That left the very enthusiastic T-Rex as the last dino standing when she pulled in the fewest number of audience votes. She was sad about it, too. The girl admitted herself that she’d stayed up past midnight every night perfecting her song-and-dance routine to “Jai-Ho” from the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire (coincidentally co-written by Nicole, who was super-pumped to hear her song being performed). To be fair, who wasn’t pumped to hear that gem come out of the vault? It’s the kind of cheerfulness everyone could use right about now. The song literally means find victory and prevail.Robin, Nicole and Jenny McCarthy correctly guessed that the personality underneath was Jojo Siwa, aka the 16-year-old singer, actress, and YouTube star who has made high ponys and giant bows quite popular with the young ones these days. Apparently the panelists just knew teenaged knees were performing those dance moves. “I actually paused my tour to do this,” Jojo said after the reveal. “I was like, ‘Pause, I want to do this!’” That's dedication. Nicole was so into it that she even ran down to the stage to perform Jojo’s swan song with her. Meanwhile that means Astronaut, Night Angel and Rhino will join White Tiger, Kangaroo, Turtle, Banana, Frog and Kitty in next week’s two-hour, Super Nine episode.Bring your dancing shoes..The Masked Singer airs Wednesday at 8 pE on CTV.[video_embed id='1927603']BEFORE YOU GO: Ryan Reynolds, Seth Rogen join PM Trudeau’s efforts to flatten the curve[/video_embed]
