Things got romantic for Taylor Swift during her time as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend, where she performed the quiet and intimate "Lover," which she sang along to while playing piano and then followed that with the sax-heavy track, "False God," and maybe it's all because her boyfriend was watching. That's right, Joe Alwyn was somewhere in the building (we're guessing in her dressing room or backstage, not in the audience where he would be instantly spotted) and waiting for the show to finish so the two of them could take the romance off the set. But it turns out they didn't go far.Right after host Phoebe Waller-Bridge signed off for the night, thanking Swift as well as special guest Matthew Broderick, Taylor and Joe headed to SNL's after-party. She was wearing what she had on during her second performance, an oversized blazer and sparkly embellished pants, while Joe wore a simple charcoal sweater and jeans under a dark wool coat. We don't get much PDA from Tay and Joe, or pics of the two of them together at all, so the rare sighting of them getting out of their car and holding hands as they walked into Zuma in New York felt almost unicorn-like. But what is obvious is these two, who began dating in 2016, are still going strong. Three years is pretty epic for Swift, whose love life has been much-chronicled by the media. Her past songs were often inspired by breakups and not-so-great experiences but Lover has been a dreamier, freer, more mellow—and we're sure at least some of that can be attributed to Alwyn."Singing about something helps you to express it in a way that feels more accurate," Swift recently told Rolling Stone, explaining that she'd rather write about her feelings for Alwyn then talk about him in an interview. "You cannot, no matter what, put words in a quote and have it move someone the same way as if you heard those words with the perfect sonic representation of that feeling."[video_embed id='-1']Joe Alwyn and Cynthia Erivo bring 'Harriet' to TIFF.[/video_embed]According to TMZ, fans were quick to notice a shiny new diamond ring on Taylor's hand but don't get too excited. That giant rock was on her right hand, so don't expect wedding bells ringing just yet.But this new Taylor, keeping her relationship on the DL, while somehow managing to transform her already brilliant love songs into groundbreaking numbers? Here's hoping we get at least three more summers of these two.
