We’ve all seen the videos of people hopped up on pain meds after some type of minor surgery. There’s millions of views on YouTube that prove most of us have seen the clips, which often include declarations of love and a reminder to choose carefully when asking someone to drive you home after having your wisdom teeth removed. But we don’t often see celebrities in these videos. Thank you, Taylor Swift’s mom.Taylor Swift and her newly improved eyes appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday to talk about her new album Lover, and she was quickly put on high alert when Jimmy began asking Swift about her eyesight, with the uber-famous popstar certain that no one outside her immediate family knew that she had undergone Lasik Surgery. “What’s happening right now,” said Swift, noticeably alert.Fallon quickly filled Taylor in, reminding us that moms with smartphones are not to be trusted. “Your mom may or may not have videotaped you after surgery and she gave us the video,” said Fallon, with Swift rightly asking “For the television?” Oh yeah, for the television.
It’s tough to pick which part of the video we love best, from Taylor’s teddy bear sweater, to her "my mind is alive" comment, to her impressive choice of going straight to fruit when high on meds. We usually go for junk food and have been known to cry over broken potato chips.Having been in the limelight for more than a decade, Swift knows how this video will go, remembering a recent trending topic from one of the rare moments when Swift allowed herself to let loose in public.  "I was at a party a couple months ago and I had two and a half mojitos and then the next day #DrunkTaylor was number one trending on Twitter," said Swift. "I go from zero to legitimately thinking I’m a wizard in like two drinks," with Fallon noting that #LasikLover will soon be trending.Swift also talked about her upcoming Lover Fest, which will kick off in summer 2020 and feature Swift playing her own festivals throughout North America and Europe.
The popstar ended her appearance on The Tonight Show by playing "Name That Song," with Swift thiiiis close to being the best guest opponent the late night host has ever faced, until Taylor missed a really, really big song. Like, really big. Here’s hoping she can shake off the loss.
In addition to promoting Lover, Taylor Swift also appeared on the Tonight Show to talk about her upcoming appearance as the musical guest for this weekend’s SNL, which is hosted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
