It’s no secret: Taylor Swift is a dynamo. Not only does she know how to give the people what they want, she’s also a shrewd businesswoman, a whiz in PR and marketing, and is passionate about her music, her fans and her image.
So just when everyone was used to her bangs and polka dots and hand hearts, Tay-Tay traded in her good-girl image to be the girl next door. And we likey.
Swifty is practically unrecognizable, albeit familiar, on the Nov/Dec cover of Wonderland. It’s been ages since we’ve seen her without the bangs but it’s the sun-kissed skin and the heavy brows that complete her fascinating look.
The smoky eyes and lush, dark brows are more Cara Delevingne than Karlie Kloss: lush, dark and stunning. The slick wet hair, like she just came out of the ocean, is refreshing. But it’s her dewy skin that changes everything, like she spent all day at the beach with SPF 4 on her face (and not with a big J.Lo hat, parasol and vintage, high-cut bathing suit, like we normally would picture her in). She looks like she hung out in Cabo with Jennifer Aniston for a weekend. Really, though, whatever she endured — a ton of bronzer, or several hours with the Dancing With the Stars makeup department — was worth it. She looks natural and gorgeous and not so put-together.
Swift has been in the public eye for so long so this transformation is perfectly timed. Because, of course. Taylor isn’t just a crafty little minx who loves writing songs about her exes. She proves she can do more than shake it off — she can shake it up. We can’t wait to see what she’s going to do next.
