It's never been a better time to be a Swiftie! Fresh off her Lover album release, Taylor Swift is officially joining the upcoming 17th season of The Voice as the show's Mega Mentor, alongside a mega stacked lineup of music superstars.Returning as coaches this year are Kelly Clarkson, last season’s addition John Legend, and fan-favourite power couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, all aiming to lead their teams -- and ultimately, one artist -- to victory. Normani, Will.i.am, Usher, and Darius Rucker also join as Battle Advisors this year, each paired with one coach. So where does Taylor fit in? As the Mega Mentor (and really, who's more ‘mega’ than Taylor Swift right now?), Swift will help prepare the artists for the Knockout Rounds, where two competing singers go head to head performing a song of their choice for the coaches. This round acts as their last opportunity to stake their claim on stage as a worthy competitor, before the coaches reveal who will advance to the final round — better known as the Live Playoffs. And TBH, if you're about to lay it all on the line in front of some of the biggest names in music -- and, you know, the whole world -- wouldn’t you want a pre-performance pep talk from T-Swift herself? If you’re feeling a bit of déjà vu right now, you’re right. This isn't the first time Taylor's flexed her talent on the set of The Voice. Besides serving as the Mega Mentor during season 7 back in 2014, Swift also rocked the audience with a performance of “ME!" with Brendon Urie during last season’s finale episode.Adding to the pre-season hype, John Legend and The Voice OG Blake Shelton took to Instagram earlier today to share the news. The promo clip features Legend and Shelton talking about the secret new Mega Mentor, while Swift not-so-casually steps out of a trailer behind them.

Our @NBCTheVoice Mega Mentor for Season 17 is VERY MEGA. If only @blakeshelton and I could figure out who it is.

Kelly Clarkson also shared her excitement for Swift’s return, explaining, “She cares about the artists — that’s what I loved about working with her the first time. I loved that she actually cared and invested. She cried a couple of times. She was really into it.”Season 17 of The Voice returns on September 23 at 8pm ET on CTV2.
