Taylor Swift’s latest collaboration isn’t with another musician, but with fashion designer Stella McCartney. The two women joined forces to create the line of merch for Swift’s upcoming seventh studio album Lover, set to be released on August 23, and unveiled the first look at their project on Tuesday night.
Swift shared the news of their partnership on Instagram, uploading a pic of the women looking over designs. “It’s been SO much fun to work/dream up cute stuff with my friend @stellamccartney to create a line inspired by my new album Lover. Can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on,” writes Taylor, adding that a pop-up shop in New York from August 23 to 25 is on the way, with more information on the line to be announced on Thursday, August 21 at 5 p.m. ET on YouTube.

Swift and McCartney shared the line’s lookbook on Swift’s official online store that showed the items stayed mostly with the dreamy pastel colour palette that we’ve seen in Swift’s video for ‘Me!” and the album artwork on her Instagram, and includes jackets, t-shirts, baseball hat, hoodies, a tote bag and purse.
The limited edition line features sizing and styles for both men and women as well as two exclusive Stella McCartney pieces, including a handbag and bomber jacket. The jacket, shown below, retails for $1,995 USD and the handbag sells for $795 USD.
Swift incorporated the newest addition to her family in her Lover merch, showcasing her cat Benjamin Button. Poor Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey must be shook.
The full tracklisting for Lover also appears on a handful of merch items along with the album release date of August 23 and of course lyrics from Lover songs, including one line that references McCartney, is incorporated into some of the designs.
Speaking with British Vogue, Swift revealed that she and McCartney became friends when Swift was staying in McCartney’s native U.K. more often. “When I started spending more time in London, Stella and I would go on walks, have cocktails and talk about life,” Swift told Vogue. “So, when it came time to write this album, I name-checked her in one of my songs and when I played her the album, I said, ‘Should we do something?'”
“I couldn’t believe that my name is in a Taylor Swift song (what?!),” added McCartney. “After Taylor played me the entire album it gave me such incredible inspiration for the collaboration and it really revolved around the music… What I love is how we really complement each other in what we generate creatively together.”
