It’s a good thing winter is coming, because you’ll want to stay out of the water for a while after this.

Two great white sharks faced off near South Australia, and the epic battle was all caught on camera. Adam Malski was taking in the sights at Neptune Islands when one of the massive, 2.6 metre-long beasts made a charge for some bait hanging off the side of his boat. But just as the shark’s head broke the surface of the water, an even larger one burst from below and sunk its teeth into the other’s head.

This is the stuff of nightmares, folks.

It’s still unclear whether the two sharks actually intended to fight each other, of if they both just happened to make a break for the bait at the same time (maybe they were even playing, who knows). But cannibalism among great whites isn’t unheard of, as the terrifying predators will eat practically anything if they’re hungry enough.

So cue the Jaws music, and check out the video above.
