After winning the gold medal for ice dance at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir became the most decorated figure skaters in Olympic history. And they’re the first figure skaters in history to own five Olympic medals. No big deal.

As a thank you to their home country, the Canadian ice dancing greats and figure skater Patrick Chan embarked on The Thank You Canada Tour. The 30-city, cross country tour started in Abbotsford, B.C. and wrapped in St. John’s, N.L. last November. To say it was a huge success if an understatement, and before the tour came to an end, it was clear to Tessa and Scott that they’re far from done creating and developing a new style of skating entertainment.

So, what was the next step? Another tour, of course!

Tessa and Scott returned to Your Morning to announce Rock the Rink live on the show. This annual tour will be so much more than a figure skating show. Combining the highest level of on-ice superstar talent (Elvis Stojko, Patrick Chan and Kaetlyn Osmond, just to name a few) with an ever-evolving touring production, Rock The Rink will produce the highest value of entertainment. This year, the tour will make significant upgrades in video and lighting technology, and will introduce live music to the show, featuring special musical guest, Birds Of Bellwoods.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 3rd (find ticket info on the Rock the Rink website) and the tour launches Saturday, October 5th in Abbotsdord, B.C. and will hit more than 30 cities before wrapping in St. John’s, NL.
