We all know that Olympians don’t compete on the worldwide stage for the dough — in fact in many instances these men and women are forced to fundraise and take on second jobs just to continue doing the sport they love.
That’s why we love a good endorsement story, especially when it features one of our country’s own.
Following her swoon-worthy ice dance performances at the Olympics in PyeongChang with partner Scott Moir, Tessa Virtue is coming home to some delightful news. One half of the most decorated Olympic ice dancing team ever is going to be the newest face of Nivea.
I’m delighted to announce that I’m partnering with @NIVEACanada as their first-ever Canadian Brand Ambassador! Working with an iconic brand like NIVEA is an exceptional honour-I adore the products, and I LOVE that the company is all about feeling good in your skin! #TessaxNIVEA pic.twitter.com/6UiY2AErlx

Not too shabby for someone who just retired from her main gig, huh?
Virtue is an obvious choice to become the first Canadian ambassador. Not only is she the country’s reigning sweetheart right now, but she’s also got the kind of beautiful, flawless complexion the company has long coveted for its cover girls.
The first ad hit social media today, and it’s pretty much on par with what we imagine Virtue’s life to be like. There’s a little bit of skating, a lot of hard work and just enough time left over to hang with some girlfriends. In between all of that, the gold medal winner can be seen moisturizing her skin with Nivea products to give her a radiant glow.
It makes you want to go out and grab some new moisturizer for yourself, doesn’t it? Now that’s what we’d call a gold-medal look.
