Just when you thought it wasn’t possible to get any more excited about the Star Wars: The Force Awakens release this December, new details about the movie were revealed at Comic-Con this weekend. Our collective minds were blown to pieces, much like the Death Star in Episode IV: A New Hope.

During Saturday’s hour-long Star Wars panel at the world’s most popular nerd convention, director J.J. Abrams and The Force Awakens cast revealed a ton of new info about the film, and it sounds like it’s going to be beyond epic.

Here’s a recap of the 21 most interesting things we know about Star Wars: The Force Awakens so far:

1. The movie is currently in editing and a working cut of the film is complete. (Now if only we could use the Force to get our hands on a copy…)

2. The story is set approximately 30 years after Return of the Jedi.

3. It is the first film in a new Star Wars trilogy.

4. In addition to directing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams is also a producer and screenwriter of the film.

5. George Lucas is a creative consultant on the film.

6. It’s been revealed that Simon Pegg is in the movie..but we don’t know who he’s playing yet. (We suppose not Scotty. That’s a joke, Star Wars faithful.)

7. So is Brienne of Tarth! Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie plays Captain Phasma, a chrome trooper who is an officer in the First Order.

8. The film will feature hundreds of new creatures, including Baba Joe, who introduced himself to at the Comicon panel. How cute is he?

 

9. Girls star Adam Driver continues to be mum about his evil character Kylo Ren, only revealing that he is psychologically sinister. star wars 10. Oscar Isaac plays Poe Dameron, a Resistance X-wing pilot in the film. star wars 11. Star Wars legends Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) are all in the movie.

14. J.J. Abrams says he wants the new film to “tell a story that would make us feel,” not just exploit nostalgia without meaning.

15. The new Star Wars films will feature ethnic diversity. For the first time in the Star Wars universe, there will be Asians present in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

16. Newcomer John Boyega is playing a redeemed Storm Trooper named Finn.

17. Newcomer Daisy Ridley plays a character named Rey, a scavenger on the desert planet Jakku.

18. Domhnall Gleeson confirmed he is evil in the film. His character is named General Hux.

20. Harrison Ford says the theme of the new film trilogy doesn’t feel different than the original trilogy, just a natural progression. Thank God Yoda!

21. Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on December 18, 2015.
