“You’re all puppets, tangled in string … Now I’m free: There are no strings on me.”
Anyone who had any doubts about James Spader lending his voice talents to the most infamous robot monster super villain on the planet just had all their negativity quashed. The actor delivers a chill-inducing dialogue in the first new, two-minute trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron that has us on the edge of our seats for more.
It’s crazy how much Avengers goodness they were able to squish into two minutes and 13 seconds, but it’s all there: Thor’s hammer, Stark’s ‘tude, a broken Captain America shield, a nice moment of humanity between Hulk and Black Widow, a broody looking Hawkeye, the return of Nick Fury, complete anarchy. And Ultron. Lots of glorious, bone chilling Ultron.
Seriously, is it May yet?
The only downside to it all is that the trailer was supposed to be unveilled next week, during Tuesday’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The show was expected to get a nice ratings bump from the cross promo. (We’re still holding out for another Fury cameo ourselves.) Instead, Marvel was forced to release the trailer early when someone leaked it on Wednesday night. In that regard, you almost feel bad for being this excited. Almost.
If you haven’t caught the trailer, or need to see it six or seven more times like us, here it is in all its flipping comic-book-page glory. Now excuse us while we go grab a shawarma.
