Is Friendzone Whiplash a real thing, because that’s exactly what Tuesday’s episode of Love Island (Monday-Sunday, 9pET on CTV) was delivering. New Islander Lauren came all the way from the UK to join the villa, bringing more sophistication than we ever thought possible to leopard print. It’s the accent. Lauren’s arrival shook up both solid and un-solid relationships throughout the villa and her date with Connor may have actually broken Mackenzie. Seriously, someone check on Mackenzie.

THE BRITISH INVASION

New Islander Lauren's vibe is like if you combined all the Spice Girls into one very hot body. A little posh; a little scary; a little baby; a little ginger; and a little sporty. Needless to say, Lauren immediately caught the attention of every guy in the villa. When it came time to hear the results of Monday’s vote (where viewers got to pick who went on a date with the new British beauty), Connor was the guy who got to take Lauren out which immediately sent Mackenzie on a tearful spiral. America and Canada, stop being so mean to Mackenzie and generally bad at voting. Connor did his best to reassure Mackenzie, who feels betrayed by her countryman, but he did admit to Lauren that he felt a sense of relief in escaping the villa. No kidding, Connor. Hopefully Mackenzie gets a bit of air as well, because everyone is way too in their feelings for the beginning of Week Two.

CARRINGTON GETS CARRIED AWAY

It was only two nights ago that Kierstan went on dates with Caleb and Calvin and then immediately rushed back to the villa to reassure Carrington that he had nothing to worry about. Following Carrington’s conversation with Lauren, he was in the position to (kinda) reassure a tearful Kierstan, who described her mental state as "imploding." That’s not good. Carrington finished hydrating by drinking a vase full of water and then rushed right over to... Johnny so he could tell his friend that he was more attracted to Lauren in every way. Let the implosion continue.[video_embed id='2025596']ICYMI: The arrival of new Islanders breaks up one of the original couples on ‘Love Island’ [/video_embed]

JUSTINE PULLS A JEREMIAH

Following the recoupling ceremony, a smitten Tre told Justine that her speech made him happy. Aw! Just as Tre was ready to hang up his Player hat for good, Justine decided that her three-kiss stipulation wasn’t creating enough sizzle and announced that she wants to just be friends with Tre. Wait, what?! Coming out of retirement faster than Jay Z dropping the Kingdom Come album, Tre made a beeline for Lauren and interrupted her chat with Johnny. Tre’s got 99 problems but having enough friends ain’t one.

THINGS WE LEARNED ABOUT LAUREN

Since Lauren is pretty much all anyone talked about on Tuesday night, it seems important that we get to know the thunder from down under. Wait, wrong accent. The luck of the Irish. Shoot! We are bad at this. The fit Brit? There it is!
  • She was born dead. Lauren told Tre that she was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. Being able to pull off full leopard print seems like good karma for having a rough start in life.
  • Her first pick is Johnny, but she’s also interested in Carrington and learning more about his layers. (Side note: Carrington has layers?)
  • She is slightly concerned Mackenzie will attack her for going on a date with Connor, which is silly. It’s not like they sleep in the same roo… it’s fine, it’s fine. We’re sure everything will be fine.
  • She struggles with coffee makers, which makes sense. Much easier to make a cuppa.
