Community fans should try to keep their cool, cool, cool, cool right about now, because as people everywhere are taking their time in self-isolation to catch up with or to discover the series more than a decade after it first premiered, the OG cast is (almost all) reuniting for a virtual table read for charity—even Donald Glover is involved. As Joel McHale would say, “raise the anus flag.”Variety broke the news on May 7, revealing that creator Dan Harmon is getting the gang back together for the season five standalone episode, “Cooperative Polygraphy.” That particular chapter of the Greendale gang’s story took place entirely in the college’s library, where the study group gathered for Pierce’s (Chevy Chase) funeral. Pierce’s estate executor (Walton Goggins) spent most of the episode grilling the various characters.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Donald Glover would need to think about Willy Wonka role[/video_embed]Neither Goggins nor Chase—who had plenty of beef with Harmon over the years—will join the table read, but McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong are all joining Glover. Speaking of the Star Wars star, Glover’s addition is kind of a big deal: he hasn’t really participated in any kind of Community reunion since he left the series back in season five. The table read goes down on May 18 at 5 p.m. ET on Sony Pictures TV’s Community YouTube Page, and will also feature Q&As with fans that submit their burning questions in advance on social media using #AskCommunity and tagging @CommunityTV. Those same fans are also being asked to donate to two charities: José Andrés World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods. Both charities are among those helping to get vulnerable communities and frontline workers nourishing meals during the coronavirus pandemic. Sony Pictures Television is also making a contribution on behalf of the show. For those who need a small refresher, Community ran for five seasons on NBC where it was constantly “on the bubble” of being cancelled. The show’s official tagline became, “six seasons and a movie,” which it kind of got when Yahoo picked it up for a sixth season. Community officially wrapped in 2015 with no movie, but with plenty of movie references throughout its very meta, 110 episode run. “Six seasons and a Zoom call” kind of has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? Annie’s Boobs probably would. Either way here’s to more bag-uls and whipped irony for fans everywhere on May 18.[video_embed id='1954204']BEFORE YOU GO: Is it OK to celebrate Adele's weight loss?[/video_embed]
