There are plenty of excellent lipsticks on the market, but 25 more will enter the market on Black Friday, and the inspiration behind them is a little…testosterone-heavy. Tom Ford is unveiling his second-annual group of Lips and Boys, a lipstick collection inspired by – and named after – men.
This year, two very hot, and very notable, men are reportedly going to be honoured: Drake and Jake Gyllenhaal. A Tom Ford rep told The Cut, “Drake did write a song called Tuscan Leather, so there is a connection.”
It’s true, the Canadian singer wrote “Tuscan Leather,” which name-checks the fragrance of the same name, by Tom Ford. So, it’s like Ford is saying, you scratched my back and now I’ll scratch yours. The Drake shade is said to be a burgundy, but not much else has been revealed.
As for Jake-y, he’s currently starring in Ford’s new film Nocturnal Animals, so what’s a little lipstick branding and naming between friends and colleagues, hm? We imagine his shade will be more pink, and subtle. He may have a beard and build now, but he’ll always be the lovable guy with the goofy grin.
Add Ansel (Elgort?), Joaquin (Phoenix?) and Rocco (Sir Rocco Forte?), and that leaves 20 yet to be revealed. Who else will make the cut? Justin Bieber?
