A decade after it first left our TV screens, groundbreaking drama series The L Word is back with a sequel set to debut later this year and on Thursday, we were gifted with the first trailer for The L Word: Generation Q.

Original series stars Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig return for more drama set against the sun-kissed Los Angeles backdrop, and a few new faces are introduced in the teaser (hence “Generation Q”).

The short clip teases fresh, exciting story lines for Bette (Beals), Alice (Hailey), and Shane (Moennig) and while Bette’s former partner Tina seems to be out of the picture, it looks like she’ll have her hands full with a budding political career. And is Alice hosting her own late night show now? We are SO ready.

New characters Dani Nùñez (Arienne Mandi), Micah Lee (Leo Sheng), Finley (Jacqueline Toboni), Sophie Suarez (Rosanny Zayas) and Gigi (Sepideh Moafi) also make their first appearances in the teaser, and while it remains to be seen how the O.G. crew will connect with the new generation, we feel pretty confident that with showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan at the helm, and series creator Ilene Chaiken serving as an executive producer along with stars Beals, Hailey, and Moennig, the storylines will be as gripping as ever.

With just a few months left to go before the premiere, here’s hoping this is just the first of many trailers. Until then, we’ll be talking (“laughing, loving…”) about this first look to anyone who will listen, and it looks like we’re not the only ones.

Showtime’s The L Word: Generation Q premieres December 18 on Crave and you can stream its spin-off series The Real L Word right now.
