The cast of Fuller House is sticking by newly ousted cast member Lori Loughlin. On March 12, Loughlin was one of 50 people indicted as part of a $25 million federal bribery case where wealthy parents paid big money to get their children into elite colleges. Following the news that Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, paid $500,000 for their daughters to be accepted to USC, Loughlin was dropped from the Hallmark channel and cut from the final season of Fuller House, but her cast members subtly shared some love for Aunt Becky over the weekend.
Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, who play DJ Tanner, Stephanie Tanner and Kimmie Gibler, attended the Kid’s Choice Awards on Saturday with the younger members of the Fuller House cast and accepted the award for Favorite Funny TV Show. Kids, amirite?
Barber started the speech saying “Thank you for voting Fuller House as your Favorite Funny TV Show. You have been laughing alongside our family for four seasons and this family has a lot of heart.”
Bure quickly jumped in, getting very ‘hold my orange rocket thing’ and let the subtle shade against Netflix, the station that airs Fuller House and therefore fired Loughlin, fly like green slime. “And where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love and a loving family sticks together no matter what,” said Bure. “They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets and a loving family that also sticks together, also celebrates the really good times.”
Sweetin followed, swooping in with a bit of damage control seemingly in an effort to pivot away from the message that paying and praying your way into school is okay. Wrapping up the speech, Sweetin said “This is one of those good times. You’ve stuck with us for 30 years and we love you all so much. We promise the fifth and final season is gonna be amazing.”
It’s also gonna be without Aunt Becky.
Loughlin and Giannulli are scheduled to appear in court on April 3 to face their charges. The couple’s daughters have already been removed from USC and their youngest daughter Olivia Jade, a social media influencer, has been dropped from at least one of her sponsorship deals.
And we still can’t get through more than five minutes of Fuller House.
