The Home Shopping Network launched in 1982, while QVC started shortly after in 1986, and we’ve been buying things over the phone – and online – since. Sure, we go into stores and try things on, but there are many different ways to snag a sale these days.

And now, Apple and Burberry have decided to give us one more option: buying directly from the runway, using our television sets and Apple TV remotes. No, really, it happened this morning.

See, the Burberry stream came with a request button, which, when pressed, would put you in a queue to be called by a Burberry rep. You’d then simply place a pre-order for the pieces of your choice, and then voila. You wait.

Now, it wasn’t for the entire collection, but it’s still very forward-thinking for a high fashion brand to continue in the tradition of the Home Shopping Network. Sadly, Burberry doesn’t take payment installments.

If you don’t have Apple TV, you can watch the no-longer-live runway show here. It’s the first time this has ever been done during a live, runway stream. And, it’s pretty cool, so it definitely won’t be the last.
