So long New York City. Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna and Jessa are all gearing up for a trip to Springfield. It was just announced that the main cast from HBO’s Girls will be lending their voices to the upcoming 27th season premiere of The Simpsons this September.
Although it was originally just going to be Lena Dunham voicing the character of Candace, Homer’s quirky pharmacist fling in the September 27th episode of the show, it has now been confirmed that Dunham is bringing her Girls along with her. Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Allison Williams will all have small feature voice roles in the premiere as Candace’s best girl friends (duh).
In the episode titled “Every Man’s Dream,” Marge is said to file for divorce from Homer, who starts dating Candace. As explained by Simpsons executive produce Al Jean, naturally her best friends interject. “They’re asking her the question that anybody normally would: ‘Why Homer?,’ fulfilling the role that Patty and Selma have played on the show all these years.”
