No word on whether they exchanged Weasley jumpers.

It’s the season of giving, and in that spirit, local muggles and fans of movie wizardry everywhere just received an unexpected gift. The cast of Harry Potter reunited — like really reunited, meaning a group of them were together in the same room and there’s glorious Instagram proof — and we are here for it.The OG schoolmates, Emma Watson (Hermione), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), now in all their grown-up, out-of-character glory, were spotted cozied up in a post Wednesday.

Merry Christmas from us ☺️

Watson captioned the snap with “Merry Christmas from us” — A Merry Christmas indeed, Emma! Where have you guys been?Although the franchise came to an end back in 2011, it comes as no surprise that the actors have remained friends — even amidst demanding careers and conflicting schedules. They practically grew up together, after all… just a slightly cooler (correction, more magical) high school experience than the rest of us. That being said, we can’t help but notice the reunion is missing two rather pivotal characters… Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter himself, duh) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).Perhaps, it has something to do with their recent projects. Grint is currently on the promotional circuit for his new Apple+ series Servant and, in a recent interview, he actually admitted he just saw the first Harry Potter film (very) recently. Apparently, watching himself and his cast-mates grow up through the ‘awkward teen stage’ wasn’t high on his list of priorities. When he frames it like that, can we really blame him?As for Radcliffe, he’s currently starring in Miracle Workers, a new comedy series set to debut January 9th on CTV Comedy Channel. The workplace comedy is set in heaven, where God becomes “dissatisfied with his job and ready to move on to his next project.” In this case, moving on to his next project means destroying Earth. To prevent Earth’s destruction, Craig (a low-level angel played by Radcliffe) and fellow angel Eliza (Geraldine Viswanathan, Blockers) strike a deal with God.Watson, on the other hand, has been busy with Little Women, a buzzed-about drama hitting theatres later this month, following the lives of four sisters as they come of age in America in the aftermath of the Civil War.So, basically, everyone’s been busy. We get it. But a (mini) Harry Potter reunion was the Christmas Miracle (Radcliffe, did you catch that plug?) we didn’t know we needed.Felton made sure to follow up Watson’s post with a coloured version, and an especially on-brand hashtag #gryffindorVSslytherin.

BRB, we’re busy looking up all our favourite spells and setting our out-of-office replies so we can start a multi-day marathon of each Harry Potter film.
