Ivanka Trump is many things. A business woman. An occasional reality TV personality. The incoming First Daughter of the United States. And a fashionista, of course. We mean… how could you not be as a woman in the limelight, these days?
Until recently though, the public might not have been aware that Ms. Trump has had her own fashion line since 2011. But now that the entire world’s eyes are on her every move, you’d better believe consumers are not only looking into the brand, but they’re also sharing plenty of thoughts about it.
Take Ivanka’s boots, for example. While Amazon.com’s official description reads, “Timeless. Classic. Elegant,” as easy descriptors of the merchandise at hand, commenters have a different opinion.
Under the questions section of one particular boot for example, someone asks, “Where are these boots made?”
“Not in America… of course…” is the top answer.
And that’s just the beginning of the snark.
“I love that they cover my knees. Makes it easy to kneel to the patriarchy!”
Yikes. Bet Ivanka didn’t see that one coming.
It really just keeps getting better though. On this pair of Sarena boots, user Missy739 hit all the right notes with her review:
At first, I thought these boots were a little amusing and I didn’t take them too seriously. I thought they would be trendy for a few months and then they would find a place in the back of my closet never to be seen again. Unfortunately, that did not happen and now I am stuck looking at them and hearing about them daily for the next 4 years.
Then there are the reviews of this ankle bootie, a cut that seems cute at first glance. But according to user Chris Donton the colour is all off.
Kind of a funky grey color, not at all like the Nazi grey I was hoping for.
Whoever Inspiredbylifeitself is, she agrees about the colour being off, only her complaint is about the Women’s Smith Riding Boot.
These boots are not right for me. Although they come in a grey color, it is more of an ALT RIGHT grey. They make me feel like a “nasty woman.”
Meanwhile, a Donna Dicorcia Davis is fine with the colour on these ankle boots, but says they made her want to do strange things…
When I wear these shoes I get the urge to grab a vagina . Also I notice I wanted to scream out inappropriate cultural slurs such as ‘build that wall’. I am now sending them back to Amazon. I bought a pair of Uggs. Way better fit and and I am no longer feeling the urge to scream obscenities.
An unnamed user had a similar experience with these riding boots, leading us to believe it may be some sort of pandemic.
I bought these for a friend’s daughter and they fit fine but when she was wearing them her dad started making comments like, “if she wasn’t my daughter I would marry her,” which kind of freaked me out.
Whatever else, at least most consumers can agree with janemd, in that these boots, like all boots, were made for walking.
These boots are perfectly designed to trample on fellow Americans’ Civil Rights Day or Night.
Well that just about sums up the U.S. popular vote perfectly, does it not? We can’t wait to dig into the comments on Trump’s handbag line next.
