What would you do to stay youthful? Painful microdermabrasion? Extreme exercise? Drink the blood of Betty White?
After the year of painful celebrity deaths we’ve just had (here’s looking at you, Prince, Ali, Bowie, Carrie and Debbie), it’s no wonder why our beloved Betty is on everyone’s mind. Thankfully the Golden Girl is as charming as ever, and Twitter reminded us of that recently when the octogenarian inspired a #HowIStayYouthful campaign.
Sure, White didn’t actually do anything to encourage the hashtag other than be her fabulous self, but that usually seems to be enough to get these sorts of things rolling.

Since this original tweet hit the web plenty more have followed, with most of them offering sound advice like eat clean, drink water and moisturize. Others explained that choosing to not have kids is their magical elixir. Then there are those who stepped in with some with pretty hilarious twists, like these purrfect takes.

Of course some folks went a little darker with equally funny tweets that we’d place on the “bordering morbid” scale:
Bathing in the blood of children. #HowIStayYouthful

Oil of Oley and Skin So Soft. Mix them with Jack Daniels and drink up. Effect lasts for 12 hours.

One ounce of Betty Whites blood per month. #HowIStayYouthful
— Gene (@itbegene) December 30, 2016
That would do it… Because clearly drinking White’s blood is easier than creating Horcruxes or finding a magical genie.
The sampling goes on and on, with plenty of advice (from genuine to ridiculous) making the rounds. But of all the tweets we’ve seen we have to say this one invoking a classic Mark Twain quote is definitely our favourite.
#HowIStayYouthful “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

Because, yeah. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and age is just a number. We may be getting older, but living a true Betty White lifestyle means laughing lots, never taking yourself too seriously and always finding an outfit you feel fabulous in.
Who wouldn’t be down with that?
