It’s been one week since fans finally learned that Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Izzie Stephens (Katherine Heigl) were end game on Grey’s Anatomy (Thursdays at 9 pET on CTV). In the ensuing seven days, we’ve had to process the news, the people in Alex’s life have done a lot of drinking, eating Chinese food, watching TV and being angry. All in all, it doesn’t sound like the best week. But when one dramatic door closes, another one opens, and the doors were swinging like a Western saloon on Thursday night.

Jo is done with love

No surprise, Jo (Camilla Luddington) is done with love, at least temporarily. She’s done with people making out in public and singing sappy songs and saying they’ll love you through sickness and in health 'til death do you part, unless their ex-wife secretly has their children and tells them five years later. Thankfully, Jo is heartbroken, but not broken, telling Link “I am changed because of him. He made me feel worthy of love and even though it’s over that is mine to keep.” Yas Jo. Give it a few months, possibly until Season 17, and we bet a dreamy new doctor will magically walk through the hospital doors. But not Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti). He’s hovering over rock bottom and needs some help.[video_embed id='1736881']RELATED: Grey's Anatomy Giacomo Gianniotti shares has the ultimate Hollywood success story[/video_embed]

Mad Meredith & Bad Tom

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) was surprisingly chill after reading Alex’s letter last week and seemed to have found a zen head space about her person’s decision to abruptly leave her and never come back. Good for you, Meredith! People can change. They don’t have to be dark and twisty, they can be light and breezy and oh wait, she’s mad. That’s more like it. We pity the billionaire who gets in Meredith’s way today. The rest of the hospital may not think of Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) as a nice guy, but most viewers, along with Teddy (Kim Raver), have always seen his softer side. When an Elon Musk-esque billionaire asks Tom to write him a doctor’s note to get out of jail after one of his rocket’s explodes, Tom has a moral quandary. Eventually, he agrees to fake the diagnosis in exchange for a big ol’ cheque that can be put to good use at the hospital and save lives. And since he’s taking bribes, he might as well continue down his bad guy path and sleep with Teddy again.

Link, you are the father

The makeup and hair team on Grey’s Anatomy did the best they could making Chris Carmack look heartbroken and disheveled, but he’s still super handsome. Link and his jawline finally decided that he was going to love Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and her baby regardless of what the paternity test said. And it said Link! You are the father! False alarm, everyone. No need for anyone to panic or do anything rash.

Teddy’s tantrum

After doing some basic math and receiving confirmation from Maggie (Kelly McCreary) that Amelia’s baby may be Owen’s, Teddy (Kim Raver) decides to tell Owen (Kevin McKidd). He is of course shocked, because calendars are hard, people. Maggie is upset that Teddy didn’t keep Amelia’s secret and just as Teddy begins criticizing Amelia for not telling Owen, Maggie points out that Teddy was basically ready to push by the time she told Owen about her baby. Good point.Teddy asks Owen what having a baby with Amelia would mean for their future and he takes about 10 seconds too long to answer, which sends Teddy running back to Tom. Owen finally gets his head out of his…scrub cap and tells Teddy that he’ll always pick her. But will he pick her when he finds out she cheated with Tom? Because that’s definitely coming out.

Richard (semi) retires

After having his hospital and his job taken from him by his soon to be ex-wife, Richard (James Pickens Jr) is seeing red. He screams at Miranda (Chandra Wilson) and begins throwing his furniture, an act that would get another doctor let go, but Miranda has already fired Richard once this year and that didn’t go well. After calming down, Richard reveals that he’s done with surgery, but stops short of telling Miranda it’s because of his tremor. Why? Why not tell her? There are too many secrets in this hospital.

Jackson and Vic put out their fire

Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Vic (Barrett Doss) never really felt like a great match and their small flame finally went out on Thursday night. Sadly, that will be one less Station 19 crossover, but on the plus side, no more uncomfortable family dinners.Watch new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on CTV and catch up online anytime at CTV.ca.[video_embed id='1918977']BEFORE YOU GO: Bachelor Peter's Mom takes over last night's finale[/video_embed]
