Thursday’s episode of Love Island (Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. ET on CTV) featured a recoupling that ended in Winston being dumped from the Island, a night in the Hideaway for Elizabeth and Zac (we can’t unsee Zac’s Hideaway face), and a lesson in how words and tweets are hurtful. Plus, we’re still trying to figure out what #twistorstick means.
THE HERITAGE MOMENT
Katrina said she wanted to pick the guy who hadn’t had a chance to find love, so obviously she picked Winston. Wait, sorry, we typed that too fast. Cashel? Cashel. She picked Cashel. Katrina said she chose Cashel because he, the guy who has been in the villa since Day 1, hasn’t had the chance to make a connection. Katrina doesn’t think it’s Cashel’s fault he spent all this time with Kyra (the love triangle lives on!). Whose fault is it then? Katrina said that Winston had the chance to make a connection with every girl and didn’t. If that’s Katrina’s reasoning, she better hope the next boy who has the power to boot a girl from the villa doesn’t use the same logic or else she’s getting 30 minutes to pack her bag.
The group played a game of Bingo that was essentially a feed of mean tweets. Kyra is a “stone cold B,” Zac and Elizabeth are “boring,” Yamen is “a player,” Katrina “deserves better,” and Kelsey is a “golddigger.” That is, according to the North American public, or at least the people who sent those tweets. The game achieved its goal of shaking things up, with Zac upset that people think he’s “whipped” by Elizabeth—a term we truly loathe. It also gave the boys the opening they had been waiting for to complain that Zac spends all his time with Elizabeth. You know Zac, the guy who’s actually getting some action? Less complaining, boys, more putting in face time with your ladies.
THAT AWKWARD MOMENT
Were we the only ones who had to rewatch the part where Zac said something about Elizabeth and holes? Thankfully it turned out to be really sweet since he was telling the guys that Elizabeth told him she was a fingertip away from falling for him and not… something else. It was a whole night of weird metaphors though with Yamen saying he hopes he and Aissata can water their seed of connection and a little flower grows out of it. Both cute in context, but come on guys, do you hear how these analogies ~sound~ out loud?
