Former child star Jake Lloyd must have thought he was back in 1999 for another galactic pod race.

News broke over the weekend that the child actor who played young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace got busted in a 100 mile an hour high speed chase with police in South Carolina.

According to reports, the now 26-year-old Lloyd was arrested last Wednesday by Colleton County Sheriff’s deputies after deciding not to stop when officers attempted to pull him over for reckless driving.

Lloyd was allegedly revving his car at speeds of over 100 miles per hour in the chase that lasted over 25 miles on Interstate 95. The former Skywalker then drove off the highway into a wooded area, where he smashed into several little trees and eventually stopped his pod rac…uh…car.

Luckily nobody was reported hurt in Lloyd’s reckless racing. As of last night, the former child star had not posted bond and was still in the slammer.

He’s sure looking a lot more Sith-y these days.
