Cinderella’s castle is a beautiful piece of architecture from right out of, well, a fairytale. You just feel like you’ve stepped into the movies when you stand in the street at Disney World and look up at that towering palace. Now Lego has just announced that not only can you bring that glorious Disney creation home with you, you can build it yourself. This is every Disney fan’s dream (and we’re a little surprised it took them this long to make it happen).
The set includes over 4,000 Lego pieces. FOUR THOUSAND. This isn’t your generic 100-piece Lego house set; this is a serious masterpiece. Just look at the detail in even the smallest items. Mickey’s sorcerer hat has little stars and a moon on it.
Plus the castle itself can be described as nothing but a work of art. They’ve spared no detail. The outside is an exact replica of the real Cinderella castle with towers, archways and perfect ornamentation. Check out that lattice work on the tower balcony! They even have launch-able fireworks to recreate Magic Kingdom’s nightly Wishes fireworks shows.
The outside is enough for us to want to drop everything and spend the next several days constructing our very own Lego castle, but that’s not even the best part. Do you honestly think Disney would just leave it at the super-realistic exterior? No way. The interior is five levels of Disney-themed rooms that are nicer than most of our houses. It includes a kitchen (fully-stocked with pots and pans, of course); a bedroom with curtains and a decorative bed; and a grand foyer complete with suits of armor, coats of arms and a grandfather clock. We seriously need to get our hands on this. Now.
This baby will retail for $349.99 USD at the Lego Store and is available September 1st. We are counting the days.
